PHASE II
Had the appt with the neurosurgeon and oncologist yesterday (Monday). We will see the neurosurgeon again in one month, he wants her swelling to go down more and she has a small area of her incision that has not healed properly yet before he releases her to the oncologist to begin radiation – also more time for the inside to heal. The oncologist will take over Andreas care after our final appt with the neurosurgeon. They briefly touched on the radiation process, basically phase II of this tumor removal. When the neurosurgeon gives the ok, Andrea will begin radiation – 5 days a week for 6 weeks (happy summer). We are hoping it can begin in time to be over before Andreas Marching Band Camp in August, because that will be about the only thing she’ll get out of this summer. She was hoping to at-least attend her fair in Ithaca and Greenville, but will have to see how she feels after radiation – unless we end up staying right down in Ann Arbor for those 6 weeks. Other than that, she is feeling much better and hopes to be back to herself soon. Today will be her first full day in school and it looks like she will need to do some class work this summer – from the past 4 weeks that she has missed. Just keeping current at this time is enough for her to do. Thanks for your continued caring and support of Andreas Journey.
