Neuro Opthamologist
Saw a Neuro Opthamologist (the one Andrea saw in Lansing before surgery – we were told by U of M it would be June until we could see one there and I did not want to wait) today – not much to tell. They did a 2 hour long exam then we waited for 1 1/2 hours for doctor and he evaluated her for about a 1/2 hour and we were out of there. He said not to loose hope that there is a 1 in 10 chance of her sight returning in her right eye, but that it would not be like it was before surgery. He said to wear her reading glasses during school and computer work and to obtain a pair of safety glasses when outside to protect the left eye. Other than that he said Andrea is a trooper to keep getting better and see him in 3 months. Now this morning I receive a call from Andreas Neurosurgeon doc office at U of M and they have scheduled a Neuro Opthamologist appt for Thursday the 8th of may at U of M. Then15 minutes later I receive a call from them again canceling that appt because Andreas Neuro Surgeon docwants her to see a different Neuro Opthomologist so we will wait to hear when that appt will be. Andrea is continuing to progress everyday – although she seems to have a lot of swelling in her right eye today. She is really moving along on her school work and wants to return to school next week – she will try going for two classes in the morning and see how tired she gets. Her mind has alot of things it wants to do, but her body doesn’t agree yet. Thanks for continuing to check in on Andrea – we plan to keep the blog going…
